FAITH FORMATION
Proclaiming the Greatness of the Lord
A Family of Faith
We will continue to use whole family faith formation program that will help us all grow in faith as a family and as a community.
AT THE PARISH
TWO Meetings per month for the whole family – Held Wednesdays of the month, we will meet in the Parish Hall from 5pm - 6:30pm. Unless otherwise noted due to other planned activities.
Parents – Will attend a parent talk during the the session; providing parenting advice, faith development and many topics to help build each other up in our faith and parenting journey.
Students – will stay with their catechist and work on their lesson and activities.
AT HOME
Parents – Will support their children with learning their prayers and any in-class or at-home lessons. Families should attend Mass regularly (including Holy days of obligation) and any other required Faith Formation activities. 3 hours of community service required each year.
Students – Students will be responsible for developing their prayer life, completing their activity booklets and decerning their readiness to receive Sacraments.
This program provides us with the tools we each need to share and teach our beautiful Catholic faith.
At St. Mary's we are no longer offering a two year formation program. We are now adopting a readiness approach to Sacramental preparation.
This means, a child will receive their sacrament when they understand what the Sacrament means, knows basic Catholic prayers, and fulfills Diocesan requirements (minimum of two years) to receive the Sacrament.

VOLUNTEERS are needed throughout the year to help with the innumerable details of our Religious Education Program. Your involvement will reinforce the importance of the Program and will help to improve the quality of your child’s experience. We need parent volunteers to teach and assist in the classrooms. If you are willing to volunteer please talk to Andreya Arevalo (707) 509-3352 or email andreya@stmarysvacaville.com
St Mary’s religious education program is on-going, it does not end once a child receives First Communion. We want to assist your child in learning the beauty of the Catholic faith.
