In the photo above a food order is being taken.

Who qualifies? A Vacaville resident with an ID with current address or document showing Vacaville residence. Each client may receive a food order of several days of food once a month.

St. Mary’s Food Locker serves approximately 375 families (1300 people) per month.

St. Mary’s Food Locker purchases 20-30 racks of sliced bread, 80-100 dozen eggs, and 72 half gallons of milk every week, as well as thousands of dollars of food from the Solano Contra Costa Food Bank.

Safeway, Sprouts, Walmart and WinCo donate 500-600 lbs. of food to St. Mary’s Food Locker every week.

Approximately 100 St. Mary’s volunteers pick up, sort, store, organize and distribute food to Vacaville families in need. When a Vacaville resident drives up, a volunteer asks how many people in their family and offers them their choice of food and produce that is available that day. Once the selections are made, it is brought out and placed in their trunk.

Every family gets these Basic items: ½ gallon of milk, dozen eggs, meat, sliced bread, other bread items, cereal, soup, a tomato product, peanut butter, fruit, tuna, a ready-to-eat (like spaghetti-o’s), can of vegetables, macaroni and cheese, pasta, rice, deli and dessert items (as available), produce, toilet paper, and specialty items.
