From the Pastor’s Desk

Dear St. Mary’s Parishioners,

             Thank you to all who made our annual Crab Feed last weekend such a wonderful event!   Many people worked very hard in the planning, preparation and carrying out of the fundraiser.  Thank you to all of you who donated items for our auction, who donated alcohol and other items, who worked on the set-up, who did the cooking and serving, who worked the bar and who did the clean-up. Thank you to all of you who came to enjoy some good company and delicious food! The Crab Feed is an important work for our confirmation students who give of their time, charity and energy to serve the tables and to help in any way they can in order to raise funds for our religious education program.  The event brings St. Mary’s parishioners together as well as other folks and serves as a beautiful testimony to the generous and energetic spirit of St. Mary’s volunteers. Thank you for all of you who contributed to the effort to support our younger parishioners’ formation in the Catholic faith!

While the Crab Feed was a wonderful occasion to come together as a parish, we will have another parish gathering next Saturday, May 7th:  our annual Youth Group Dinner fundraiser.  If you have not bought tickets yet for the dinner, please consider doing so and attending this wonderful event. The cost of the evening is relatively inexpensive and includes some delicious food, great music and fun games. Like last year’s fundraiser, which was a great success, the gathering will be in our parking lot.   This year’s event is called “Woodstock Festival” after the four day music festival attended by hundreds of thousands of people (including a young Rob Vandergraaf!) in upstate New York in 1969.  Tickets will be on sale after Mass so make sure and buy yours now!
